Seriously, it's time to move on...
Every morning, I listen to an LA radio station's morning show because I enjoy their banter and interviews and humor. I even read one of the DJ's blogs from time to time -- funny shit. But what I don't get, what I haven't gotten for a few years now, is that EVERY morning, they play songs from Nirvana and Sublime. Hello? These bands haven't made new music in, oh, ten years? I'm sorry, but I can't listen to "Smells Like Teen Spirit" every day. I don't even want to hear that song once a month.
They also play songs from the Beastie Boys' "Licensed to Ill" album on a regular basis. That album came out when I was in SEVENTH grade. I DO NOT want to hear "Brass Monkey" every morning. Stop! Stop playing it!
ARGH.
Okay, I'm better now.

OK, I'm with you on the Beastie Boys, but Nirvana in the morning I could take. And I wouldn't be looking for much new music from Nirvana ;)

Oh, I know there won't be any new music from Sublime or Nirvana -- the radio station plays the most popular CURRENT alternative/rock type music, that's the deal. Nirvana and Sublime aren't current, and they never will be again! Trust me, if you had to listen to "Smells Like Teen Spirit" every morning, you'd turn it off after a while!

There is a radio station in Atlanta very similar to this. 99X When I go back to visit and I turn in on for "old times sake" I thought I wouldn't recognize any of the "new" music out nowadays. I was sadly mistaken when I heard the exact same music they played when I was in college there something like 5-10 years ago. It's kinda fun for a week or so when I'm visiting, but no, I would get sick of it every morning!
