Point and shoot much easier. Though I loved photography, it's a different world from point and shoot. I highly recommend you take a class - you will LOVE it.
I actually have looked into a couple down here. Too bad you are far away, we could have done it together.

Ahward question.. how else can you take a picture? That All I do, I point and shoot. sometimes i only shoot.
